Meet the FOUNDER

LA-based DJ, music producer, and event curator Baby Kush found her way to music through small-town, campout festivals in her hometown of upstate New York. Immersed in a landscape of connection and self-discovery, she seeks to create a culture of love, acceptance, and community through music.

She is a tastemaker known to construct genre-bending sets combining elements of low-end experimental bass, deep dubstep, and drum and bass. Through deep wobbles, bouncy basslines, and sexy wubs, she cultivates a unique psychedelic, feminine sound in both her DJ sets and original productions.

Noticing the lack of queer and femme representation in the bass music scene, Baby Kush started Bass n Babes to create an inclusive, safe space for queer, femme, nonbinary, and LGBTQ ravers and artists.

Baby Kush aims to empower and uplift the vast creativity within the queer EDM community. A pioneer of the unconventional, rooted in the truth that the music scene thrives with diversity, Baby Kush embraces the queer and feminine and strives to create a larger platform for the untapped talent of the bass music scene.

Her sonic inspirations include Alison Wonderland, Rezz, Zingara, Alleycvt, Sharlitz Web, A Hundred Drums, and Canabliss.

Baby Kush has played for notable bass music collectives including B Side LA, Good Society LA and Daisy Chain SD, and supported acts including Mala, Peekaboo, Maddy O’Neal, Zen Selekta and Eprom.

Her upcoming shows include Bass n Babes, Untz Festival, Babestock and Elements Festival.
